Fostering Website
We wish success to the newly launched website
www.foster-carers.org.uk. This aims to recruit people who are thinking about fostering.
It is the fostering agency of the charity Father Hudson's Society.
They want to hear from people in the West Midlands area who
could foster children.
OFSTED Inspection
Adoption Focus has been inspected.
This happened at the end of November. Our inspection report is published on the OFSTED website.
We are delighted that the service has achieved an overall 'outstanding' assessment.
Placement News
There is a lot happening with our approved adoptive families. They are in demand for children who need new families. This is exciting news.
By the end of July another 10 children will have been placed.
We wish all our families the very best. The Adoption Focus social workers are here to support them.
New Adopters
We are getting lots of calls from people who are thinking about adoption.
Many of these people have successfully moved on to the next stage, and will be coming into preparation groups. This is great news for the children who need new families.
The next set of preparation groups will take place in June, and then in September. We are planning dates for 2012.

Training
We have reviewed our training programme and planned new workshops for 2011.
We run workshops for families who are already approved and families who have already adopted.
This includes:
- parenting the traumatised child
- play
- theraplay
- preparing for the child's placement
- family and friends.
