LGBT Adoption & Fostering Week 2018 runs from 5th - 11th March. We're always happy to hear from potential adopters from all communities, but during this week we'll be particularly reaching out to lesbian, gay, bi and trans people who are considering adoption.

We are looking for resilient and resourceful individuals and couples who feel able to love, support and care for children who have experienced a chaotic life during their early years.

Recent studies have shown that LGBT people are more open to adopting siblings, children with attachment difficulties, older children and children with behavioural difficulties. Currently, in England, 1 in 10 adoptions are to same-sex couples.

To celebrate the week, Adoption Focus adopter and award-winning blogger Jamie has written a blog post for us offering advice to LGBT+ people who are thinking of looking into adoption. You can read his post here.

LGBT Adoption & Fostering Week is organised by New Family Social, of which Adoption Focus is a proud member agency. New Family Social is a nationwide support network and the only UK charity led by LGBT adopters and foster carers. Our membership allows all of our LGBT adopters and applicants free access to the excellent support and social events offered by New Family Social.
