We have a wide range of activities taking place around National Adoption Week this year.

To mark the beginning of the week, which runs from 17th – 23rd October, we held our first ever fundraising concert, with vocal harmony group Spectrum performing an evening of music at Coleshill Social Club on Friday 14th. Thank you to everyone who came along to support this event and thank you to Spectrum for selecting us as their charity for the year.

On Tuesday 18th October staff from Adoption Focus will be attending the National Adoption Week Awards ceremony at the Foundling Museum in London. Adoption Focus staff and volunteers have been shortlisted for awards in two categories, Adoption Support Practitioner of the Year and Adoption Champion of the Year.

Also on Tuesday, we'll be launching our Grow Your Tenner 2016 campaign. During the campaign Localgiving will match all online donations to Adoption Focus up to a value of £10, and monthly donations up to £10 per month for 3 months. To donate to us or find out more about Grow Your Tenner you can visit: https://localgiving.org/adoptionfocus.

On Wednesday 19th October we will be hosting an Information Event at Grimsbury Community Centre in Banbury. This free event will start at 6pm with a short presentation before people have the opportunity to talk in confidence to experienced adoption social workers and get the information they need before starting their own adoption journey. For more details or to book a place visit our Oxfordshire Information Events page.

As always we will be very active online throughout National Adoption Week, sharing photos, videos, news and information via Facebook, Twitter and this website on the theme for this year, ‘Support Adoption’. Look out for the hashtag #SupportAdoption.

Adoption Focus CEO said: “National Adoption Week is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of adoption and the amazing work done by adoptive parents and adoption agencies to help our most vulnerable children.”
