National Adoption Week 2017 is taking place from 16th to the 22nd of October. During the week, Adoption Focus will be joining with our friends and colleagues at First 4 Adoption and adoption agencies across the country to help focus attention on adoption.

More than half of the children waiting to be adopted in England are brothers and sisters in groups of two or more. That's why National Adoption Week 2017 is focusing on siblings. It's an opportunity to raise awareness of their situation, explore what these children need and to invite people to find out more about what it takes to be an adoptive parent.

National Adoption Week focuses on the need to find adopters for priority children, including those in sibling groups - an area in which Adoption Focus has been particularly successful over the years. Currently 67% of the children waiting for adoption in our region are brothers and sisters in groups of two or more.

You can follow National Adoption Week on social media throughout the week. Look out for the Twitter hash tags #NAW2017, #SupportAdoption, #LoveMyBrother and #LoveMySister.
