Child adoption at 30
There is always a need for adopters of all ages and backgrounds, as there are currently thousands of children waiting for a stable home.
Many people adopt children in their 30s, and you could too. Children’s lives are being transformed by finding a loving and supportive adoptive home.
If you’re 30, you have so much to offer to an adopted child or children. You have lived experience and the maturity to nurture a child in a safe and rewarding environment. They need love, stability and someone who shows up each day.

Can single people in their 30s adopt?
Yes, single people in their 30s can 100% adopt. You don’t need to be in a relationship or married to adopt, and we have worked with many single parents over the years. We’d love to help you too.
Is 30 a good age to adopt?
There is no good or bad age to adopt. You have to be 21 years of age to legally adopt, and there is no upper limit. As long as you can provide a stable and loving home, age doesn’t really come into it.
How does adopting in my 30s compare to 20s or 40s?
There is no difference adopting in your 30s compared with 20s and 40s. There is no perfect profile of an adopter and no ideal age to adopt. As long as you are 21 years of age and pass the assessment and approval panel, you’ll be eligible adopt a child or children.
Can I adopt as a first-time parent at 30?
Yes, you can be a first-time parent when adopting in your 30s. It is not a requirement to have previous children or parenting experience.
What costs are involved in adoption?
The only costs involved with adoption in the UK is the medical with your GP (examination and report), or incidental costs like travel to meetings or events. All other aspects of the adoption process are covered such as the legal fees and court costs, and access to training courses. You may choose to take time off work during the process which may have financial implications.
