Adoption Focus adopter Colin has bravely signed up to run the Brighton Marathon to raise funds for our adoption support service.

The Brighton Marathon Weekend is an exciting three-day event that takes place each April in buzzing Brighton.

UPDATE: The Brighton Marathon has been postponed and is now scheduled to take place in September. Colin is planning on taking part then and his fundraiser will remain open. Thanks Colin!

Over 18,000 participants take part across the events, while over 150,000 spectators line the city streets to show their support.

Events include the UK’s second largest marathon, Brighton Marathon, the BM10k race, The Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens Mini Mile Races and BM Ride.

Over 12,000 runners take part in the marathon every year, enjoying a course that starts in Preston Park at 9.45am, snakes its way through the city centre, along the glorious seafront and finishes at the iconic Madeira Drive in front of thousands of cheering spectators.

The course bests for the men and women are well under 2:10 and 2:29, making it the second-fastest marathon in the UK. It is also the second-largest marathon in the UK and eighth-largest in Europe.

Colin, who adopted his daughter with us in 2017 has very kindly decided to take part in this epic event and is hoping to raise much needed funds to support our post adoption support service.

This is what Colin has to say;

This year in 2020 I will be running the Brighton Marathon on 19 April.

In 2017 my wife and I adopted a cheeky, smiley little baby through Adoption Focus. In the time since she has made us very tired and also very happy. Adoption Focus were with us through the whole journey and afterwards, and kept us going through every high and low.

It would mean the world to me if you could support me through the marathon by donating through my page and to help Adoption Focus with their mission to find loving and stable homes for children that need them.

A donation to Adoption Focus, no matter how big or small, will make an amazing difference to the children and families we support. Make a donation today and help some of the most vulnerable children to achieve a happy and secure childhood.

To sponsor Colin, please click the donate button at the top of this page. We'll be very grateful for any donations we receive and please don't forget to 'Gift Aid' it.
