This morning (28th November), BBC News has published a story based on an investigation it has conducted into adopted children being returned to care. It reports on “a hidden world where parents are subjected to lies and blame by authorities across the UK, as they struggle with the needs of traumatised children”.

The result is an inaccurate, one-sided report focusing on some extreme cases, which has the potential to damage the adoption sector at a time when there is already a crisis in adopter recruitment.
