We're proud to support National Adoption Week 2022, which runs from 17th - 23rd October. This year's campaign explores the theme of identity, recognising the significance of adopted people’s memories, relationships and connections to the past.
As part of National Adoption Week, You Can Adopt has released a short film featuring four adopted people looking back through the ‘memory boxes’ and keepsakes which have helped them with their sense of identity. The emotional film brings to life the connections that adopted people make and how their sense of identity has been formed through various connections in their lives – including birth families, foster carers, friends and adoptive parents.
Adoption Focus can provide expert advice and guidance on helping adopted people with the issues raised in this campaign. Our adopters and their children can access our Ofsted Outstanding-rated support whenever it’s needed by contacting the adoption support team.
